A private company has generously contributed to the Coimbatore Police by providing electric autos for patrolling, utilising funds from their CSR initiative.
The initiative was inaugurated by City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan.
These electric autos are equipped with sirens and cameras, enhancing their effectiveness in patrol duties.
With seating capacity for six individuals, they are particularly suitable for navigating congested areas within the city.
Initially, five autos have been provided as part of the first phase of deployment.
During the inauguration, the City Police Commissioner highlighted the significance of this contribution, emphasising the various benefits these vehicles offer to law enforcement.
These electric autos will be stationed at police stations, including Vadavalli and Karumbukkadai, to strengthen patrol efforts.
They are designed to be user-friendly for policemen, facilitating ease of use even in narrow streets.
Special features enabling communication with the public directly from the auto are also integrated, contributing to community engagement and awareness initiatives.
The volunteers from Sri Mahasakthi Auto Agency were also present during the inauguration.
