Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner takes pledge against child labour

Commissioner Sivaguru Prabakaran inaugurated the newly renovated Sugunapuram Primary School part 2 on June 12. The school is now functioning within the Bethel Livisi Middle School complex as the latter was previously struggling due to a lack of students. The renovations were aimed at accommodating the children from Sugunapuram Primary School, which faced space constraints.
During the inauguration, Commissioner Prabakaran distributed sweets to the children and officially opened the primary school. The event was attended by Coimbatore Deputy Mayor R Vetriselvan, among other dignitaries.
Following the inauguration, Commissioner Prabakaran reviewed several development projects in the Ragavendra Garden region and Chokkampudur. These projects included the installation of a pumping station, the construction of sewage treatment plants, and the desilting of Krishnampathi Lake in Poosaripalayam.
In observance of the World Day Against Child Labour, Commissioner Prabakaran took a pledge to eradicate child labour. Many government officials joined him in taking the pledge.
