Assembly Assurance Committee led by its chairman Mr. Velmurugan, inspected various development projects being carried out in the Nilgiris district, and expressed their appreciation for the successful implementation of the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme.
Members of the committee-MLAs Mr. Ira Arul (Salem West), Mr. A. Nallathambi (Tirupathur), Mr. MK Mohan (Annanagar), Mr. S. Jayakumar (Perundurai), In the presence of the District Collector Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneru on Thursday. The committee visited the Government Medical College Hospital and inspected the construction work being carried out there, MRI scan, CT scan, oxygen cylinder plant etc. which have been set up to treat the patients and also inspected the residences in the integrated court complex built in Utagai. The team visited Parsons Valley Dam, and asked the departmental officials about the drinking water distribution methods. Also, they personally visited the library and intellectual center under the Utagai Municipality, which was built at an estimate of Rs.1.35 crores, and conducted a study on how it is used for the students. Additional Collector (Development) Mr. Kaushik, District Forest Officer Mr. Gautham, Mr. M. Karunanidhi (Joint Secretary), Mr. Sri.Ra.Ravi ( Deputy Secretary), and many officials were present.
