The District Electoral Officer and Tiruvannamalai Collector, D Bhaskara Pandian, continued his efforts to ensure smooth elections in the district by overseeing the preparation of electronic voting machines (EVMs).
With the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 19th, the installation of ballot papers into the EVMs is a crucial step in the process.
Ballot papers, securely dispatched from the district treasury, are being fitted into EVMs across the district under the supervision of Assistant Returning Officers and engineers.
This meticulous process ensures that the symbols and names of candidates are accurately represented in the voting machines.
The work of matching logos and candidate names in the voting machines is being carried out at the Tiruvannamalai District Collector's Office for 296 polling centres and 3 sub-polling centres, as well as in the Sengam District Collector's Office.
In addition to overseeing the technical aspects of election preparation, the district collector also engaged in voter awareness activities.
He took the opportunity to educate women farmers working in the fields near Kurangampattu village about the importance of voting.
Anganwadi workers assisted in distributing leaflets containing awareness slogans and voter's manuals, emphasising the significance of voter turnout.
The event was attended by Tiruvannamalai Revenue Divisional officer Mandakini, Special Deputy Collector Deepasitra, and other government officials, underscoring the collaborative effort to promote voter awareness and ensure a successful electoral process.
