The annual Montfort School sports competition in Yercaud saw over 500 students from more than 50 schools across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry compete in various sporting events, including tennis, table tennis, football, and basketball.
In the senior singles tennis category, Montfort School's Saikaran secured the first place, while Parthiban from Erode Bharathi Vidyabhavan took second place, and Niven Frankie from Montfort School finished third. In the senior doubles tennis category, Montfort's Saikaran and Niven Frankie claimed the top spot, followed by Parthiban and Pavish Sakthivel from Bharathi Vidyabhavan in second place, with Kevin and Abishek from Montfort in third.
In table tennis, Erode Bharathi Vidyabhavan students Dhanvandh Adith and Karthik won first place in the senior doubles category, while Trichy Campian Anglo-Indian School's Antonious Jeyru and Apollo Gabriel secured second place, and Lourdeslas and Lakshan from Montfort School placed third.
In basketball, Salem's St. Mary's Higher Secondary School claimed the first position, while Chennai’s St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School and Santhome Higher Secondary School secured second and third places, respectively.
In football, Salem’s Sirmalar Higher Secondary School students took the top spot, followed by Annai Velankanni Higher Secondary School, Vathalagundu, in second, and Montfort School in third.
The event was inaugurated by Montfort School Principal Rev. Bro. S. Dominic Savio, who welcomed the participating schools with bouquets. The closing ceremony was graced by Montfort alumnus and entrepreneur Naveen Rajesh, who awarded cash prizes, trophies, and certificates to the winners.
