The South Indian Chefs Association, in collaboration with the Indian Federation of Chefs Association and the World Association of Chefs Societies, hosted the national-level 'Culinary Challenge' competition in Bangalore. The event, supported by World of Hospitality, attracted over 500 culinary artists from across India, including participants from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Mumbai, and Delhi.
Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science (SRCAS) made a remarkable mark in the competition under the leadership of Chef K Ajith Kumar, a culinary instructor at the college. Giridharan M, a final-year student, clinched the gold medal in the Vegetables and Fruits Carving category. Additionally, DF Sameema, a second-year student, won two bronze medals in the Wedding Cake and Plated Appetizer categories. S Soundaryadevi also earned a bronze medal in the 3 Tier Wedding Cake Decoration category.
The winners were celebrated at a special event held at the SRCAS campus. They were honored by D Lakshminarayanaswamy, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, K Bhavaneewari IPS, Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore, and Dr. BL Shivakumar, Principal and Secretary of SRCAS.
