Snake handler dies after bitten by a snake in Coimbatore

In Coimbatore, a renowned snake handler, known for capturing hundreds of snakes, tragically died after being bitten by a venomous snake.
The incident occurred at a workshop in Kanuvai, Kalapanayagan Palayam, Coimbatore, where a snake had entered the premises last night. Pambu Murali, a 44-year-old famous snake handler from Kanuvai, was called to handle the situation. Upon arrival, Murali located the snake, which was coiled under a table.
It was identified as a highly venomous viper. As Murali attempted to capture the snake, it bit him on the leg. Despite immediate first aid efforts by those present, which included draining the blood from the bite site, the poison rapidly spread to his head.
Murali was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, but he succumbed to the effects of the venom before reaching medical care.
The Forest Department and Vadavalli police recovered his body and transported it to Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem. The Vadavalli police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.
Pambu Murali, also known as Muralitharan, had a long history of snake handling, earning him his reputation. His death is a significant loss to the community.
