Tamil Development and Information Minister Mr. M. P. Saminathan inaugurated the 20th Tirupur Book Festival jointly organized by Tamil Nadu Government, Tirupur District Administration and Pinnal Book Trust.
District Collector T Christuraj, Tirupur Municipal Commissioner Pawankumar G. Kiriappanavar and MP Natarajan attended.
The minister said the Chief Minister announced in the Legislative Assembly that the Tamil Nadu Government will conduct district wise book fairs. Tirupur Book Festival will be held for ten days from January 25 to February 4 at Velan Hotel Complex, Tirupur Kangeyam Road.
A total of 157 halls have been set up in the book fair. 6 government departmental stadiums are erected. The fair starts at 11.00 am and ends at 9.30 pm every day. Admission is free for all. In this book festival, lakhs of books on thousands of topics in various categories including science, history, politics, culture, story, poetry, novel, children's literature, self-improvement, economics, mental psychology, spirituality are available to the audience.
Books are available for all age groups from kids to adults. Seminar, concert etc. will also be held. Tirupur Book Festival is a great opportunity to read books on lakhs of topics and improve general knowledge.
On this occasion, Tirupur Deputy Collector Soumya Anand Assistant Collector (Training) Ms. Kirthika S. Vijayan, Govindasamy, Chairman of the 3rd Zone of Tirupur Corporation, and Mr. Ira Iswaran, Chairman of Pinnal Book Trust, Mohankarthik, District Library Officer P. Karthikeyan, Pinnal Book Trust administrators, departmental officers, students and public were present.
