Gold prices soar in Chennai

The price of gold in Chennai has witnessed a significant surge, attributed to various factors including geopolitical tensions. Experts suggest that the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict has contributed to the recent fluctuations in gold prices. As of today, the price of 22-carat gold jewellery in Chennai has risen by Rs 360 per sovereign, reaching Rs 54,040 per sovereign. 
Similarly, the price of 22-carat gold per gram has increased by Rs 45, now standing at Rs 6,755 per gram. For 24-carat gold, the price per gram is Rs 7,225, and per sovereign, it is Rs 57,800. 
In addition, silver prices have also experienced a slight increase, with the price per gram reaching Rs 88 and one kilogram being sold for Rs 88,000.
