Fish price up due to ban on fishing activity in erode

Over 30 tons of fish are brought here for sale on normal days. As fishing ban is in effect in Tamil Nadu, fish from Kerala was brought to Erode fish market on Sunday.   Only 15 tons of fish were brought for sale. As it was a holiday, the crowd was huge. Not only this but because of the current bird flu scare  people reduced their consumption of poultry meat. Instead, their focus now turns to fish. Compared to last week,  the price of big fish rose by Rs. 150, small fish by Rs.50.
