District Collector inaugurates e-service centre for ex-servicemen in Tiruvannamalai

In a pioneering initiative in Tamil Nadu, District Collector D Bhaskara Pandian inaugurated an e-service centre for ex-servicemen at Kongarambatu Panchayat near Arani Vattam, Kannamangalam. Established by the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Department, this centre provides free internet services to ex-servicemen.
The pilot program aims to offer free services to ex-servicemen and their dependents from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. 
The centre facilitates online applications for various welfare schemes, including Identity Cards for Ex-Servicemen and Widows, ECLIG Education Scholarships for ex-servicemen's minors, Prime Minister's Education Scholarships for ex-servicemen's minors, and Dependent Proof for Admission of ex-servicemen's minors in educational institutions. 
Additionally, it supports applications for Marriage Grants for ex-servicemen's daughters, Poor Financial Assistance to ex-servicemen and widows, and other Central and State Government welfare schemes. Over 4,500 ex-servicemen and their dependents residing in Arani, Kannamangalam, Polur, Vandavasi, and surrounding areas will benefit from this service.  The inauguration event was attended by Assistant Director of Veterans Welfare, Squadron Leader AV Suresh Narayanan (retd.), and government departmental officers.
