Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Carmel Garden School at Coimbatore

The Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the famous Carmel Garden School will be celebrated on January 10 and 11 at the Carmel Garden School premises in Sungam area of Coimbatore.
In this regard, the Correspondent and Principal of the school, Rev. Fr.  Arokia Thadayus and the President of the School's Alumni Association, Mr. D. Nandakumar said: - Carmel Garden Matriculation Higher Secondary School was started as the first Matriculation school for boys in Coimbatore district on the first of June 1964 by the then Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Coimbatore, His Excellency Dr. M. Francis Savarimuthu.
The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1989-1990. and the Golden Jubilee in 2014-2015. Currently, the Diamond Jubilee is celebrated in 2024-2025. 
More than 10,000 students have studied in this school and are now in various places around the world.
In this Diamond Jubilee year, 12 alumni of our school will be  awarded the prestigious award “Jewel of Carmel”.
The Diamond Jubilee celebrations to be held on January 10 at 4.30 pm will be inaugurated by the school’s President and Bishop of Coimbatore, Dr. L. Thomas Aquinas,  and as special guests. The Vicar General of Coimbatore, Msgr. S. John Joseph, former Principals of Carmel Garden Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and Dr. Madhava Ram Balakrishnan an alumnus of our school who is in World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland will be the Guest of honours, Mr. D. Nandakumar, President of the Alumni Association of this school, and Mr. T. Rajkumar, Secretary, Alumni Association will be eminent special guests.
The closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee celebration to be held on the 11th at 4.30 pm will be attended by Dr. S. Kannappan, Director, School Education Department, Chennai, as the Special guest. Also present as the guests of honor are the Chief Educational Officer, Mr. R. Balamurali and the District Private School Educational Officer, Mrs. A. Punitha Antonyammal.
