Cyclone Michaung relief to TN disappointing

A few months ago in Tamil Nadu, cyclone Michaung hit Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur districts with heavy rains. Due to this, not only severe property damage but also the livelihood of the common people was affected.Similarly, due to unprecedented heavy rainfall in the next few days, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and other districts were severely affected by floods.
Chief Minister M.K.Stalin insisted that the Union Government should immediately provide the National Disaster Relief Fund of 37,907 crore so that people can return to normalcy immediately. But while the Central government delayed, the Tamil Nadu government itself announced flood relief to the affected people from its own funds.
Also, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin and Minister Udayanidhi Stalin met Prime Minister Modi directly and requested relief funds. Likewise, all party members of Parliament of Tamil Nadu had directly met Union Minister Amit Shah and demanded relief funds. But the Central Government did not release the funds.
While the Tamil Nadu government had reportedly spent Rs.2,477 crore to rescue, protect and rehabilitate people affected by natural calamities, almost five months after the Tamil Nadu government's demand, Rs. 276 crore funds have been released by the Union Government.
Of the funds requested by the Tamil Nadu government, the Central government has reportedly provided less than one percent i.e. 0.78 percent for natural calamities. But the Central Government has given Rs. 3498.82 crore to Karnataka as drought relief. It is widely commented that a lot of funds were allocated for Karnatakakeeping in view the two-phase parliamentary elections there.
Tamil Nadu government had appealed to the Supreme Court for help when the Central government do not respond to the request for relief funds. Central Government sanctioning a very, meagre amount in the context of the Supreme Court's intervention is disappointing to Tamil Nadu’s people, according to various reports and commentaries.
This is a prime example of  how the BJP government led by Prime Minister Modi is disappointing Tamil Nadu and its people.The people refuse to accept no matter how much the Prime Minister Modi may try to pacify for not providing sufficient funds even for natural calamities in Tamil Nadu which pays high taxes.
The Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove the disappointment of the people of Tamilnadu and allocate a large amount.
