Councillors suggest holding of Makkaludan Mudalvar camp once in every year

Many councillors of Erode corporation suggested holding of Makkaludan Mudalvar camps in local bodies once in every year to sort out various problems of people.
Mayor Nagarathinam Subramaniam presided over a camp of wards 50 { her ward} 49 {councillor Kokilavani Manirasu} and 56 {councillorSenthil Kumar} in a marriage hall at Erode on Saturday. Over 1000 petitions were received by officials including assistant commissioner Shanmugavadivu, engineers Balu, Sivakumar, Councillor Nandagopu and others.
The councillors said that `this kind of camp is first of its kind in the history of TN as all department officials attend in one place. They record the grievance petitions and give acknowledgements immediately.
The camp is managed by the CM Cell and special programmes implementation minister Udayanidhi Stalin.
So, the officials have to take action on them within 30 days. They have to give reply to applicants-either settled the issue or rejected the petition with giving valid reason.
They could not keep petitions idle in the name of it is under consideration.
So, there is much hope among people on the camp and submit petitions seeking old age pension, houses, house site pattas, mahalir Urimai thogai, ration cards, widow pension, roads, water connection etc.
The councillors could also question the officials on the number of petitions received and action taken on them. People also get quick response in the camp. 
They have to go various offices, located in various places, to get remedy. 
But, here, they meet all officials and departments in one place. So, their hardship could come down. 
Hence, this kind of camps should be held in all local bodies once in every year, they added.
