Boat service begins from Nerinchipettai to Poolampatti at Erode District

Passenger boat traffic between Nerinchipettai ,Erode district,  and  Phoolampatti, Salem district,on river Cauvery resumed after 10 days on Thursday.
Due to release of excess water from Mettur dam, flood warning was issued in low lying areas of Cauvery river. 
As a result, passenger boat traffic across the river in the area was stopped since July 29.
Passenger boat traffic resumed on Thursday as only 10,000 cubic feet of water per second is being released in the Cauvery.  
For the past 10 days, people have been passing through Nerinchipettai and Koneripatti Kathavani hydroelectric power station bridges, but now they are happy that boat traffic has started again.
