Awareness program on rainwater harvesting held in Tiruvannamalai

Tiruvannamalai District Collector D Bhaskara Pandian inaugurated an awareness rally on rainwater harvesting on August 13, organised by the Tamil Nadu Drinking Water and Drainage Board. The event aimed to educate the public on the importance of conserving water, in line with the slogan "No World Without Water."
The rally featured 150 students from Shishya School, who carried banners and placards with awareness slogans as they marched from the District Collector's office to the museum in Vengkikal panchayat. The initiative was designed to engage the community and highlight the critical need for rainwater harvesting.
In addition to the rally, the District Collector flagged off a vehicle equipped with a state-of-the-art video system provided by the News Public Relations Department. This vehicle will be used to create further awareness among the public through short films on rainwater harvesting. The District Collector also watched one of the awareness short films during the event.
Tiruvannamalai Drinking Water and Drainage Board Executive Engineer Muthuraman, school students, and various government officials participated in the program.
