Misbah Noorul Habeeba and her younger sister, Shajetha Zainab, from Ravanasamudram village near Kadayam in Tenkasi District, have brought pride to their community through their remarkable achievements in yoga. Both sisters have not only excelled in competitions but also dedicated themselves to promoting social awareness through yoga and roller skating.
Misbah, 18, recently completed her 12th-grade education at Syed School in Courtallam, where she was provided free education from 6th to 12th grade due to her family's financial struggles. She has earned accolades at various levels, including district, state, international, and Asian-level yoga competitions. Notably, she won two gold medals at the Asian Yoga Games held in Thailand in 2016 and 2018. Misbah and Shajetha's achievements have also been recognised by the Universal Achievers Book of Records, and they have received numerous awards and certificates from both government and private organisations.
Despite these successes, Misbah's family, with her father working as a grocery shop worker and her mother as a housewife, faces significant financial challenges.
After self-preparing for and not clearing the NEET exam, Misbah has now set her sights on pursuing a Bachelor in Naturopathy and Yogic Science (B.N.Y.S) medical degree. However, her family cannot afford the expenses required for this course.
Misbah's dream is to become a doctor of Naturopathy and serve the underprivileged, a goal she hopes to achieve with the support of the government and philanthropic organisations. Her yoga coach, Guru Kannan, emphasised that with the necessary assistance, Misbah and her sister could continue to make the country proud with their future accomplishments.
