There should be no delay in penalising actors guilty of sex crimes

A commission investigating sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry, led by former judge Hema, was released in 2019. The report, which had been unpublished for years, revealed that actresses face sexual exploitation for opportunities and are threatened by mafias. Complaints have been filed against directors, actors, and directors, with some accusing actors of sexual harassment. The report has sparked nationwide controversy.
Statements have also been obtained from actresses who have made sexual complaints against actors. Demands for actor Mukesh to resign from his post as MLA are getting stronger due to sexual harassment allegations. He is currently absconding.
The Kerala government has set up a special investigation team to investigate the sexual harassment. The team has intensified the investigation. In this case, the police are preparing to arrest the actors against whom the case has been registered. The actors are preparing to face the complaints against them legally.
The sex scandals in the Malayalam film industry have become so blatant that they cannot be hidden. Therefore, the arrest process  should flow impartially based on the statement of the first victim actresses.
Only if the measures to be taken are very strict, sexual assaults on women, including actresses, can be prevented in the coming times, not only in the Malayalam film industry but also in other language films.
