Tamil Nadu government had announced that CNG facility will be provided in government buses.
Accordingly, natural gas filling facility was established at the petrol station. As a preview of this, for the first time in Tamil Nadu, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has taken an initiative to run a city bus from Ramanathapuram to Periyapattinam and a bus from Ramanathapuram to Sayalgudi via Thiruuttarakosamangai entirely on CNG.
The engines of those buses are designed accordingly. The diesel tank in the bus has been removed and the 7-cylinder gas-filled 7-kilogram type is equipped with safety features. Its trial run was successfully conducted and it became available to the public from the day before yesterday. It is reported that this will reduce fuel costs and avoid environmental pollution.
Both these buses have been well received by the public. They travel without any fear.
Kudos to the Tamil Nadu Government for increasing the number of natural gas powered buses on the roads of Tamil Nadu.
Let the adventure continue!
