The Department of Physical Education of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women announced that the Silambam students from the college have bagged many awards at the International Silambam and Karate Youth Championship 2024 organised by National Youth Games and Education Federation of India.
The competition, consisting of 5 different events, took place in Goa from August 24 to August 26. The students recorded an outstanding achievement of 9 Gold Medals across their respective events.
The following students secured the medals: Mothika G, III BA English Literature won the gold Medal in under 20 years category in single stick event, Neena Shree B, III B.Com BA won the gold Medal in under 20 years category in Single stick and Vel Kambu, Kaushika S, I B.Com won the gold Medal in the under 18 year category in Single stick, Nithina S, I BA History won the gold Medal in the under 18 year category in Vel Kambu and Kuthu varisai event, Dharshini R, I BA English literature won the gold Medal in the under 18 year category in the Double stick Maan Kombu and surul vaal event.
