Opposition party MPs urge centre to protect minorities in Bangladesh

Reports of religious violence against Hindus continue to emerge from Bangladesh, causing growing concern. 
Chinmoy Krishna Das, an ISKCON priest who peacefully protested and called for the identification of the perpetrators behind the violence, has been arrested by Bangladeshi authorities. He faces sedition charges with no possibility of bail.
As student protests escalated into religious riots, attacks on minority Hindus have left the community severely impacted. 
In response, opposition party MPs staged a protest within the Parliament complex, condemning the atrocities against minorities, including Hindus and Christians, in Bangladesh. 
The protest witnessed participation from around 50 MPs, including Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The MPs raised slogans demanding an end to the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, urging the Indian government to take immediate and appropriate action to ensure justice for the affected communities.
The Congress party also addressed the issue on social media, posting on X: “Atrocities against minorities, including Hindus and Christians, continue in Bangladesh, but the Modi government remains silent. Congress MPs today protested in Parliament, demanding protection for minorities in Bangladesh.”
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra emphasised the need for decisive 
action.
“The Indian government must raise its voice against the atrocities faced by minorities in Bangladesh.
It is imperative for our government to engage with the Bangladeshi authorities and extend its support to the victims,” she stated.
