Make India a healthier place

Former health minister Dr HV Hande has urged doctors to work harder to make India a more habitable and healthier place. He emphasized the importance of preventive medicine in the healthcare sector and emphasized the need for healthcare spending to cross 3 trillion dollars by 2040. Hande recalled how multiple government departments worked together to eradicate leprosy during his tenure and urged doctors to collaborate to make India a better place. 


Dr. Suneeta Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo hospitals, emphasized the importance of sustainability in healthcare and the need for cross-subsidization in today's ability funding. She emphasized that healthcare gets localized over time, with many people coming from smaller cities. Reddy also highlighted the need for money to fund research and development, as well as to create access to healthcare for all.
