Jansons School of Business and Jansons Institute of Technology, Karumathampatti, organised a mini-marathon on December 24, on the eve of the Founder’s Day, to celebrate the success of Indian athletes in the Asian Games 2023 and also to wish them well in the
Olympics.
The event had around 2500 participants from various schools, colleges and corporate institutions across Tamil Nadu.
The marathon started from Somanur and ended at Jansons Institutions, covering a stretch of 7 km.
It was flagged off by Ms. S. Annam, Inspector of Police, Karumathampatti, Mr. Ramamurthy, Correspondent, Literacy Mission Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and Ms. B. Ananthi, Principal, ARC Matriculation Higher Secondary
School.
The highlight of the event was the participation of Mr. Kalaiselvan, a para-athlete from Perambalur who ran his 439th marathon and Mr. Kannan, a 68-year-old veteran who ran his 50th marathon.
Cash prizes of up to Rs one lakh were distributed to the winners in various categories. Mr. Victor Samuel Rajan and Ms. S. Lithanya Sree topped the men’s and women’s categories,
respectively.
Mr. S. Dhinakaran and Ms. K. Diya Fathima were winners in the school boys and girls categories, respectively.
Mr. T. N. Thirukumar, Vice-Chairman, Jansons Foundation, distributed the prizes to the
winners.
