The International Conference on Advances in Materials, Modeling, and Analysis for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure (AMMA SRI-25) concluded today at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. Organised by the Department of Civil Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, and the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli, the three-day event brought together global experts to discuss innovations in sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Ganesan N, former professor and dean of NIT Calicut, who emphasised the urgency of addressing challenges like rapid urbanisation, climate change, and resource depletion. “Sustainability and resilience should guide both technological solutions and our lifestyles. It's time to focus on long-term strategies to protect Mother Earth for future generations,” he remarked.
Distinguished speakers included: Prof. Sudip Talukdar, former professor at IIT Guwahati, Er. Prabhakar Gundlapalli, Associate Director (Civil), NPCIL, Mumbai, Dr. Darren Chian Siau Chen, Associate Professor, NUS, Singapore, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Edith Cowan University, Australia, Dr. Ajay Jagadeesh, TU Delft, The Netherlands.
The conference highlighted advancements in materials, modeling techniques, and analytical methods for sustainable infrastructure, reinforcing Amrita University’s commitment to addressing global challenges in infrastructure development.
