The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) and Elektrotec 2024 jointly organised an interaction program on "Business Opportunities in and through Mauritius" on August 9 at the D Seminar Hall, CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex. M KarthiKeyan, President of CODISSIA, welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of exploring business opportunities in Mauritius.

The event featured prominent officials from Mauritius, including Soomilduth Bholah, Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance; Hemraj Ramnial CSK, Chairman; Chetnarainsingh (Vinay) Guddye, Director of Financial Services; Nemshikha Seebooa, Business Analyst for Financial Services at the Economic Development Board of the Republic of Mauritius; Phoolranee Rampadarath, Permanent Secretary; Dovinassy Pillay-Naiken, Acting Director; and Mrs. Renu, Audit Director of Supervision at the Financial Services Commission. Malaiappan Nagalingam and Sivalingam Sathappan were also present.

Minister Soomilduth Bholah spoke about Mauritius's growth and development over the past decade and informed participants about the investment and business opportunities available in the country. He emphasised the benefits of doing business in Mauritius.

Chetnarainsingh (Vinay) Guddye provided an overview of various investment opportunities, tax benefits, and joint venture schemes in Mauritius, encouraging participants to explore the country's simplified legal services system.

Acting Director Dovinassy Pillay-Naiken briefed the audience on the process of entering the Mauritian market for both domestic and global companies.

The event saw the participation of office bearers, past presidents, senior members, and executive committee members, with around 50 members attending the interaction program. P. Ponram, Chairman of Elektrotec 2024, summarised the key points discussed during the session, and M. Yuvaraj, Secretary of CODISSIA, expressed gratitude to the delegates from Mauritius and the participants.

M KarthiKeyan, P Ponram, and M Yuvaraj indicated that the business opportunities between India and Mauritius will be further explored in the coming months, with a delegation planned to visit Mauritius.
