Coimbatore Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati recently convened a crucial meeting with officials from Pollachi Municipality and members of the Tamil Nadu Water and Drainage Board to discuss key issues pertaining to waste management and sanitation.
During the meeting, the district collector highlighted the significant volume of waste generated in Pollachi, with approximately 28 tonnes collected from the area's 24,500 households. 
He emphasised the importance of creating awareness among residents about waste segregation practices to streamline waste management processes effectively. Additionally, he urged municipal officials to ensure systematic waste collection and address any grievances promptly to maintain public 
satisfaction.
Furthermore, the collector stressed the importance of establishing a steady underground sewage system and expedited connections for households not yet integrated into the sewage 
network. 
This initiative aims to enhance sanitation infrastructure and improve overall public health standards in the region.
Pollachi Sub Collector Catherine Saranya and Pollachi Municipality Commissioner Subbaiah, alongside other government officials, actively participated in the productive discussions during the meeting.
