Over 1500 athletes from 68 schools of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry competed in the three-day sports extravaganza from July 31 to August 2.
Meticulous arrangements made by The Grove School, which hosted the meet, enabled the smooth conduct of the events. Dr. Nanditha Krishna, President of The C.P. Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation, was the Chief Guest on the inaugural day.
The meet started with the marching of the athletes and the Olympic torch relay. The athletes competed in track and field events across three categories: Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior, each for boys and girls.
Despite the relentless heat, the competitors remained keen and enthusiastic as the competition intensified, with everyone vying for the coveted prizes. The Judians emerged as the Overall Champions for boys and girls at the end of the three-day battle with a total of 248 points. It was a moment of triumph for the athletes of St. Jude’s Public School and Junior College, Kotagiri, when the final points were announced.
The girls created history with their stunning performance in all three categories, winning the divisional championship. The individual championship in the Junior category, Under-17, was won by Sera Chittadiyil Joseph.
The boys emerged winners in the Junior category and runners-up in the Sub-Junior (Under-14) and Senior (Under-19) categories. The overall shield was won by St. Jude’s Public School and Junior College with 248 points (Boys-109, Girls-139).
