Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology at TNAU signs MoA with start ups

The Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology (CoEB), established at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with two start-up companies and two student innovators on October 3rd to promote advanced research in 
biotechnology. 
The agreement was signed by Dr. N Senthil, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology, with representatives from Arirang Biotech Private Limited, Kanchipuram, Sakthi Fertilizers Company, Namakkal, and student entrepreneurs Mr. Arunkumar Madhavan and Mr. Dhivvya Bhalan from KIT.
The collaboration aims to develop bio-based products, such as super-active enzymes, hormones for fruit ripening, plant growth stimulants, and other bio-inputs that will benefit farmers 
commercially.  The CoEB will facilitate public-private partnerships, offering state-of-the-art facilities, including research labs for proteomics, metabolomics, molecular biology, tissue culture, and more.
The Centre, spread over 1.06 lakh square feet, also provides cabin space for startups and student entrepreneurs to pursue their research. Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, Dr. V Geethalakshmi, along with senior officials, attended the signing ceremony, marking the start of this collaboration.
Dr. MK Kalarani, Director of Crop Management, and other delegates expressed optimism about the new research opportunities that will emerge from this partnership, aimed at revolutionizing agricultural biotechnology in India.
